Peshawar, November 2022 - The Integrated Health Systems Strengthening & Service Delivery (IHSS-SD) Activity, supported by USAID, celebrated its successful completion at a dissemination event in Peshawar. This initiative focused on bolstering healthcare systems in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh provinces, with a particular emphasis on the following areas:

Establishing and strengthening COVID Vaccination Centers (CVC)

Providing outreach services to improve COVID-19 vaccination coverage

Enhancing risk communication and community engagement (RCCE)

Facilitating partnerships and coordination among stakeholders

Implementing effective monitoring, tracking, and reporting mechanisms
One noteworthy accomplishment of the IHSS-SD Activity was the establishment of 75 Covid Vaccination Centers in 10 districts of Sindh and 15 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. These centers, strategically placed in remote regions, complemented the government's efforts to expand the number of static vaccination sites.
By selecting key healthcare facilities in each district, such as district headquarters hospitals, Tehsil hospitals, and rural health centers, the IHSS-SD Activity ensured improved access to vaccinations across the targeted areas.
The successful completion of the IHSS-SD Activity was celebrated at a dissemination event, where stakeholders, government officials, and partners gathered to recognize achievements and exchange knowledge. The project's impact on health systems and service delivery will have far-reaching benefits for the communities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh, particularly in the fight against the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
