PAIMAN was a five year project funded by USAID to reduce maternal, newborn, and child mortality in Pakistan. Contech was responsible for implementing strategies to increase awareness and promote positive maternal and neonatal health behaviors. Contech worked closely with government to integrate MNH services within devolved environment, create supportive policy environment, develop district specific intervention models, increase accountability to the community, develop management capacity, use HMIS for MNH decision making, improve logistics systems, and develop incentive packages for female staff. Contech supported the government in developing regulatory frameworks for private sector, developing sustainable public private partnerships, creating intersectoral linkages, and providing hands-on support to DHMTs.
